UK office workers are choosing the healthy option Salads and bowls top ordering choices at work during 2025

Healthy eating at work is on the rise in the UK, according to usage statistics from Uber for Business. Salads and bowls have become the most-selected choice, representing over a quarter (26%) of corporate orders. A growing preference for lighter meals is reflected by a reduction in the number of orders for more substantial options. Just three years ago, for example, almost 40% of corporate Uber Eats orders were for burgers. In 2025 this percentage had almost halved to 20.98%.

“People don’t just opt for comfort food when their employer gives them a choice”, said Andrew Laughlan, head of enterprise UK at Uber for Business. “More businesses now understand that meals can bring people together and really improve the working day, particularly when everyone is in the office.

“Across 2025, more orders were taken at regular meal times – so it’s not just about feeding people who are working late any more. There’s nothing wrong with a pizza after a long day but it’s great to see that healthy eating has become the norm. Giving employees a proper lunch is a great way for an employer to demonstrate appreciation while contributing to their well-being.”

The data showed that the financial services, technology and healthcare sectors, all of which  share characteristics such as high-intensity project cycles or unpredictable hours, continue to order the highest number of meals. Businesses from other industries have significantly increased their workplace ordering, however. Between June 2024 and June 2025, the proportion of orders from other sectors rose from 27% of total orders to 35%. Meanwhile the total number of workplace food orders through Uber increased by 75%.

Uber Eats partners with over 75,000 restaurants in the UK, including health-led brands such as Joe & The Juice, Pret, Leon and Island Poké.

Data was gathered from orders placed by individuals and organisations using Uber Eats for Business between 2022-2025.
